Contact SupportResolution & Viewport
Resolution defines the pixel size of the browser viewport used during capture. It affects layout, responsiveness, and how content is rendered for both screenshots and videos.
The viewport represents the visible browser area at capture time. For screenshots, this viewport may extend vertically when capturing full pages. For videos, the viewport remains fixed throughout the recording.
Predefined resolutions
For convenience and consistency, Website Screenshot World provides several commonly used high-quality resolutions:
- • 1920 × 1080 (Full HD)
- • 2560 × 1440 (QHD)
- • 3840 × 2160 (4K UHD)
- • 5120 × 2880 (5K)
- • 7680 × 4320 (8K)
These presets are ideal for standard desktop monitoring, compliance snapshots, and visual comparisons across time.
Custom resolution
When predefined resolutions are not sufficient, you can specify a fully custom viewport size. Limits depend on whether you are capturing screenshots or videos.
Screenshots (Images)
- • Maximum width: 7680 px
- • Maximum height: 50,000 px
Full-page screenshots may exceed viewport height when scrolling is enabled.
Videos
- • Maximum width: 7680 px
- • Maximum height: 4320 px
Video recordings always use a fixed viewport size throughout the capture.
Viewport behavior
Resolution controls the browser viewport, which directly impacts layout, breakpoints, and responsive behavior:
- • Responsive layouts adapt to the selected width
- • Media queries are evaluated based on viewport size
- • Scrollbars appear when content exceeds viewport height
- • Videos do not dynamically resize during capture
